The position is responsible for developing the purchasing plan and scheduling the receipt of raw materials (excipients and APIs), components such as primary and secondary packaging materials, labeling and consumable materials utilized in the production of Med-Pharmex’s animal health products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Establish and maintain bill of materials (BOM) for each product.  Develop associated Item Master information for each purchased item.
  • Establish safety stock, reorder points and planning horizons for each purchased item.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions to provide appropriate inventory levels.
  • Along with Accounting/Finance team, measure inventory turns and inventory value.
  • Monitor retest / expiration dates and remaining shelf-life of materials.
  • Align the purchasing plan with the production schedule, customer orders and forecasts to prevent out-of-stock situations, expediting and ensure On-Time/In-Full shipments are optimized.
  • Refine and update MRP tools in execution of this role.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Inventory Control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific Knowledge & Skills: 

  • B.S. or B.A. in Business Administration, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and comprehending English to accurately document in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Ability to use and adapt planning software, databases and spreadsheets.
  • Significant prior role and experience in managing Supply Chain in a cGMP (Food, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical) manufacturing or processing organization.
  • Ability to develop, follow and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Able to function independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Verbal and Written communication skills commensurate with the position.
  • Core business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m M-F. Overtime may be required to support special projects or critical deadlines.
